  • What is Balneol?


    Balneol is a hygienic cleansing lotion that:

    • Gently, yet thoroughly, cleanses the skin of residue and soothes the perianal area
    • Requires no water
    • Helps relieve anal burning and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids, anal fissures, dry or
       chafed skin or similar conditions
    • Offers relief for vaginal discomfort due to a yeast infection or other vaginal irritation
    • Can be used for cleansing before applying medicated creams or gels
    • Does not sting or thin the skin
    • Deposits a protective coating on the affected area
    • Helps restore skin to its normal pH
    • Can be used as often as necessary

  • Why would I use Balneol?


    Irritation in the perianal and external vaginal areas are caused by an imbalance in skin pH. This imbalance usually is the result of gastrointestinal abnormalities that cause diarrhea, constipation, anal fissures or hemorrhoids. In addition, life style choices and normal physical changes due to pregnancy and aging can affect the perianal and external vaginal area.

  • How is Balneol different from a soap?


    Balneol is a cleansing lotion that does not require water. It will not dry the skin like soaps can. Balneol also deposits a protective coating on the affected area.

  • How do I use Balneol?


    Directions for Use
    To cleanse and reduce discomfort in the perianal area: To reduce discomfort while cleansing after each bowel movement, spread a small amount of Balneol on cotton or tissue and wipe the skin around the anal area.

    Also use between bowel movements and at bedtime for additional comfort.

    To cleanse and soothe the external vaginal area: Spread a small amount of Balneol on cotton or tissue and wipe the external vaginal area. Use as often as necessary.

    Caution: In all cases of rectal bleeding, consult a physician promptly. If irritation persists or increases, discontinue use and consult a physician.

  • When using the bathroom, do I need to wipe before applying Balneol?


    No, applying Balneol to toilet paper and then wiping will help eliminate the irritation and tugging you may experience with dry toilet paper.

  • How often can I use Balneol?


    You can use Balneol as often as necessary. For additional comfort, use Balneol between bowel movements and at bedtime.

  • What is in Balneol?
