I suffer from a condition that causes my tissues to be excessively dry. I also have fissures and hemorrhoids brought on by childbirth. This product helps me to keep that area clean and moisturized so that I have little tissue breakage. For the first time in a while I have no pain or itching or bleeding. Would be nice if this product was less expensive, but I guess I will just have to sacrifice so I can keep using it. No other product has come close to doing what this product does.

Have used this product for over 20 years after my personal doctor suggested it. It travels well internationally, even fits in with the flight carry-on guidelines though I also keep a spare in my checked luggage. Balneol effectively eases any discomfort fears I have in that area. My greatest fear about it is that they might discontinue it--a few years ago there was a shortage in my area--I tried other remedies but was not satisfied with any of them. Thankfully, the company solved their distribution problems and it again became available in this area.

I use product when I feel discomfort anally or vaginally (dry skin itches). It has been a godsend that takes care of the discomfort immediately. I am taking a low dose HRT so did not want to add the estrogen cream to stop the vaginal itch since it goes through your whole system. This is a wonderful product every woman should know about.

I had a real problem with a little bleeding and a lot of itching after a rubberband ligation procedure for hemorrhoids. This was 1 month after the procedure, the nurse at the Doctor's office advised me to use Balneol. I never even heard of it, but it started to work from the first time I used it. Wow I am so glad I found this product by accident! My daughter was given it as a sample for cleaning her new unborn baby's butt. I took it because I have tried many products to control rectal itching and burning after I got my j-pouch in March 2010. At the beginning of having a j-pouch, you get many loose stools that can make it real uncomfortable. I wish I had this when I had the years of Ulcerative Colitis! It works better than the 6 other products I was using with only some relief. But this Balneol takes all the pain and itch away and doesn't burn. It is not greasy, thick and sticky... perfect consistency! I wish my colo-rectal surgeon had recommended this to me a long time ago.

Can't thank you enough for your product, I think you should advertise more. You need to get across to people how irritating those medicated wipes can be. I went on a trip and did not have them, so I used plain water or Balneol for that trip. It really made a difference. Doctors, websites, Dr. Oz, everyone tells you to use the medicated wipes. But if you are sensitive with hemorrhoids or fissures, it is terrible. So please tell the world - BALNEOL, not wipes!

I’ve been in pain and discomfort from hemorrhoids and tried different creams and medicated wipes but nothing worked for any time. I was going crazy at work today since sitting is painful and even with a special cushion it is still painful. I went to a local drugstore and saw the small bottle of Balneol. I was at first put off by the 17.95 price for such a small bottle but I wanted to try something new. WOW! What a difference. I'm feeling so much better and pain/burning is greatly decrease. For 3 mos I had suffered with a severe hemmoroid. I used all topical creams and ointments. The Doctor gave me steroid suppositories. The Goo just made it all worse! Because Balneol is waterless and does not require rinsing it is the ideal product to use to ensure complete cleanliness. A little goes a long way and it is non-irritating. I'm so pleased my husband’s doctor recommended he use it as an adjunct to his prescription medication. I have also found it very soothing.

I had anal itching to the point that I thought I was going insane!! I put so many different creams and lotions on that area to try to stop the itching that I actually caused the skin to peel away. I went to gynecologists, gastroenterologists, dermatologists and they kept prescribing cortisone creams which kept irritating the area so much that it felt like someone put fire to the area. I actually cried at times it hurt so bad. It wasn't until I finally went to a colorectal surgeon at Jefferson hospital in Philadelphia who recommended Balneol. It was like a miracle. This great product is very easy to use and really helps to cleanse without irritation. It is great for sensitive skin and leaves behind a protective barrier that is non greasy. It (Balneol Convenience Packet) is very convenient for travel too. I carry one in my purse.

If you read reviews for Balneol, you get a sense of what an excellent product this is. I have found the travel packets very worthwhile. While it may take a few times to get the hang of it, it is easy to apply and use. I don't always carry a purse, so having these in a pocket or ID pouch makes all the difference.

I've been using Balneol in the usual perianal area for a couple of years now with great success; so much so that when I recently had one of my somewhat frequent "itching bouts" in my "male area", I tried, out of desperation, coating the inner area under my foreskin with Balneol ... and it worked like a charm. I suffered for over 6 years with anal itching. I tried every lotion and cream you could buy. Nothing worked. I did get some relief from prescription cortisone cream. I honestly don't know how I lived without this stuff. If you are prone to chafing or rashes, do yourself a favor: put a bottle in every bathroom. I even keep one in my purse and in my desk drawer at work. Best thing since the spoon, I swear. You don't have to use that much each time, so the smallish bottles still last a while. But in terms of quality-of-life, it's a bargain at twice the price.

I had my colon removed about 10 years ago. I had severe anal irritation. A friend hooked me up with Balneol . I do not know how I would survive without this product. “I am so lucky I happened to see a T.V. commercial for Balneol one night. I have had rectal problems for years caused by chronic diarrhea and continuous wiping which always left me sore and extremely irritated. I even cut way back on how often and how much I ate so I wouldn't have to use the bathroom as much, lost a lot of weight in the process. Doctors prescribed creams which helped a little but still I was miserable. Of all the doctors I went to, not one ever mentioned Balneol. “I wanted to try Balneol lotion after seeing an ad in a magazine. I didn't know there was a lotion that was specifically formulated for use in the anal area--other than Preparation H or other hemorrhoidal medications--that soothes irritation and itching. Anyway, I decided to give Balneol a try, since I get occasional itching and dryness down there, particularly after having diarrhea, and I must say that it works well. I used some after getting irritated and it immediately soothed the area without being greasy like Prep H. I also liked that it was just a topical lotion, unlike Prep H, and doesn't need to be rinsed off. Perfect! If you have occasional dryness or itching in the rectal area, I would definitely suggest trying Balneol. It has a light-clean scent and is easy to apply.”

I have been using Balneol for 8 yrs. Over the years I have had problems keeping myself clean. I had to keep going to the bathroom and cleaning myself. But since I started using Balneol on a cotton ball and cleaning after each bowel movement, I no longer need to continue going back to the bathroom to wipe. One other thing, I have had continued hemorrhoid issues and this is also a God send for keeping me clean and without discomfort!!!

The year 1984 I had my colon removed due to illness I went for a year before I found this product. What a life saver!! When I told my doctor about Balneol his words were "Didn't I tell you about that?" I almost put my foot where he would need the Balneol .  I have to carry around a bottle where ever I go. I have to use it at least ten times a day and it has never had any side effects. Thank you for the wonderful product. A few years ago I could not find it any where. I even resorted to making my own blend.   It didn't work.

Balneol is an amazing product! My problem got worse over a few days. I was using cortisone cream thinking it would help with the itching. I didn't know I was making the problem worse. Yesterday morning I was in misery with intense burning and itching. I had bought Balneol the day before. I should have started it then, but started using it yesterday morning. This morning when I got up, I was so much better and as the day has progressed, I am amazingly better. Yesterday, I thought I would have to go to the doctor in the morning, but not now! I will always be sure I have Balneol on hand and on trips with me, too. Thank you for your wonderful product!

I have been using Balneol since the mid-1980's after having
rectal surgery. I also have had hemorrhoid surgery too. I have scar
tissue and this product is absolutely wonderful. It doesn't sting or
irritate at all. It relieves. It makes you feel clean and that is the
most important thing ever. I highly recommend it. If you can't find it,
any pharmacy can order it for you. I have a bottle in each bathroom and
keep on in my purse. This is a product i keep at all times, like you

If I could give this product a million stars, I would. As previous reviewers have said, I was too embarrassed to go to a doctor about the anal itching I was having, and as a last resort tried Balneol. It was like a miracle lotion, worked immediately and didn't feel gross or anything. It also did not burn like some creams/cleansers did. I am just now buying a refill bottle and I bought the original in June 2007. Packaging is boring, but who cares when it works!

I have suffered from a fissure on and off for almost a year. I have tried many creams, balms and washes to put an end to the burning and irritation. This product seems to do the trick. I used this item for the first time and I am amazed at the results. I had a really bad case of anal itching that started to spread. I had tried the popular ointments and creams and they did not help the itching at all. Too embarrassed to go to a doctor I wanted to take care of it myself and this lotion was a final resort. Wow after a few days of applications morning and night, the irritation cleared up so amazingly fast! I was skeptical because of the fragrance ..I thought it would further irritate my skin, but I was wrong. I have no more itching and I highly recommend this lotion. The bottle is small but it goes a long way.

Cons: The only negative thing is that many walk-in drugstores don't yet carry Balneol

As you can tell from the title of this review, Balneol has drastically improved my life. I mostly use it for vaginal cleansing when itchy. I also use it for cleansing after diarrhea/loose stools. I have tried many other products, and this works 100 times better than anything else I've found. I showed it to my gynecologist, and she's now recommending it to her patients. Full Disclosure: I don't own any Balneol stock, but I sure wish I did :)

Every household should have this lotion! From people with IBD or IBS to people with the occasional diarrhea. This lotion will relieve all those unwanted symptoms! I suffer from Crohn's, and this lotion has kept me clean and free from infections and irritation. I do not suffer any of the itching, burning, or sores that many chronic sufferers have. My husband and children now use it during their episodes. It is a small amount, but well worth the money. A bottle will last at least 6 to 8 months even in the most busy of households.

This product is cheap and effective. It soothes the irritation that people experience in certain private areas. My bottle never once leaked when I carried it places with me. The packaging is REALLY boring, and the product is slightly runny. But it does the job really well.

I can't fully describe the gentle relief Balneol brought. It was very soothing and cool to my skin. The soothing sensation lasts for a long time and actually provides some protection to very sensitive areas. The lotion is thick enough so you can spread it on toilet paper, but it won't start the toilet paper breaking down like water will. This also eases disposal. Balneol significantly eases itching from chafing or dry skin. You use only a little, so the 3 fl. oz. bottle lasts a very long time. Also, I have very sensitive skin and had no problems at all with Balneol.
